About Jeimy

At just 19 years old, Jeimy is continuing a proud family legacy of coffee farming. In 2020, she began her journey in agriculture when her mother gifted her a small plot of land that was already planted with coffee. With the support of her partner, Jeimy has been expanding her coffee farm, reinvesting the income it generates to cultivate more land and improve its production.

As a third-generation coffee farmer, Jeimy takes pride in continuing the tradition her grandparents started. They brought seeds from other regions and established the first coffee plants in their community. This legacy instilled a deep passion for coffee farming in Jeimy from a young age, and it has become not only her livelihood but also her way of providing for her family.

Her aspirations are clear: to continue expanding her farm, improve her coffee quality, and ensure a better life for her young son. While the changing climate poses challenges, Jeimy is determined to overcome them through hard work and dedication. Although she is just starting, she looks forward to achieving many milestones in the future.

Processing details: Cherries are harvested at peak ripeness and undergo a 65-hour anaerobic fermentation in plastic bags before being de-pulped. Depulping is followed by 35 hours of dry anaerobic fermentation in plastic bags and tiled tanks. Beans are put to dry on raised
African beds in a solar dryer covered with plastic for 25 to 30 days. Once dried, the beans are stored in sealed plastic bags until milling.
